Who sells a large one, like one liter more or less, that can be used to boil water.

The cup I have is only 8 ounces. You'd have to boil too many times if used in a survival situation.

Thanks.

These look perfect and the web site says you can put them on a fire.
I hope to find a lower price on something else. If not, then I'll get that one.

I don't know about Jeff, but I would be interested in seeing your set up, teacher.

Thanks,

Hi Teacher,

I never thought of using a tin cylinder (e.g. cookie tin) over my water bottle, good idea.

If you have some examples that would be helpful.

Thanks,

Mike

This is what I use. It is by snow peak and the two metal cups one large and one small is called the SOLO. I also use a GSI Bottle cup too. I put the nalgene bottle in the large pot then the middle cup ( GSI cup ) on top of the nalgene bottle then I put the small cup on top of the middle cup. Here are the pics.

Then I put all that into a nalgene water bottle holder.

This is what the shoulder kit looks like.
Then I sling that over my shoulder and away I go.

Bryan

Walmart sells a 1 liter aluminum cup made by IMUSA that weighs around 3 oz and sells for around 3 buckaroos...usually in stores in hispanic areas.

Not stainless steel, a bit expensive, but you can get just the cup from a Jetboil stove. Has the heat sink ring on it to facilitate cooking. It's a 1 liter cup. It's available from tons of online stores and from ebay.
