Hi all.

happy New year to every1. I got back this evening (1st Jan). The trip was great - rapids were fun and easy, but the river was low, so we paddled much harder than normally necesaary. to top it off, the temperature reached a high of 53 degrees C!!!! <img src="images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />

Still, we had great fun, and had some of the Stormers (provincial rugby team) were part of our group. Great fun!!!!

Anyway...

Knives: I sharpened and treared them with lubricating oil before I left. I kept a SAK and Fox 40 on a lanyard around my neck. I kept my wave in a ziplock in my watertight barrel. Not a sign of corrosion on either tool, although the metal ring on the lanyard shows a bit of rust (no oil)

Kayak: thanks for the post, but I only saw it today.

Glad you made it out ok and had fun. Me and my kayaking buddy sat down yesterday and planned our first trip at the mid of march. We hope that most of the ice will be gone by then.
