An interesting design, but the size of the pressure cup concerns me- it is a combat dressing, which makes me think they are thinking a gunshot (oddly, non-exiting) or stab wound. For a larger laceration, is that going to have an added benefit? Or after reading the website, am I missing something.

Although with one of their "Blast" model in the kit as well, this wouldn't be as much a concern.

I guess any extra pressure you can apply on any part of a wound is good..

The engineer in me thinks about patching just the middle of a crack in a hydraulic or pneumatic line, and how effective that works, that's all. And those, with an assortment of sensors and fibers that retract under electrochemical stimulus, is all the squishy bits of a human are, really.
