Chris Kavanaugh got me looking at the Iisakki Järvenpää puukko/lueko style knives and I have been amazed at how comfortable and wicked sharp a knife in this class can be. They are not expensive either.

These tools are designed for survival in extreme climates and have been tested for more than a hundred years. Add the forged Swedish hatchet and you can chop like no knife could ever come close. The Granfors Bruks line is designed to cut. They come with a thin edge and a sharp bit that really bites into your work. I have been amazed at the overall performance that these tools deliver. Go retro and you may never go back.
