Actually, it was *too* sugary for me ... I ate all the chocolate off the outside, but ended up binning most of the (mint/sugar) inside.

Kendal mint cake is not to be recommended. Thats is of course if you want a smile like Shane McGowan. Hope your dental plan can keep pace.

BTW Kendal mint cake has some seriously bad associations with certain outdoor types in the UK called Rambling Hikers

i'm seeing lots of good ideas here..i would prefer to buy
the real thing--no outside coating, just the white and brown
bars of pure sugar and pepermint..trying to make something
like this i assume would be hard to do unless you really
knew how to make candy..i would go in on a group buy if
someone could find a source on this side of the pond..

Well, I got a reply...

Dear James

Thank you for your email regarding Mint Cake in the US.

Unfortunately we no longer export our products due to the rising amount of administration to do so. However I can recommend a site that may be able to help. Please try www.kendalcorner.co.uk.

Hope this is of some help

Subject: US availability of Kendalls mint-cake

Do you have a US distributor for Kendalls mint-cake?
Our group has been trying to find one, but, as yet, we have failed to find one.
Thanks

That's some excellent research. It would appear that site does overseas shipping. For those of us that have not tried them, what versions are the best? I assume for long-term or warm storage, you should stay away from the chocolate bars.

Craig.
