Never tried that model. Just now I'm using the Seychelles Water Filter (purifier) Straw+ the "Advanced" carbon filter attachmnet. This was a diffcult research project for me. I could not find any good independent scientific studies or comparisons. But, my tentative conclusion was that, for its small size, it gave the best purification, including at least some chemical nasties. Criticism and new information invited.

Frontier straws,I have & use them on occasion, both types. You have to make sure to spit out the 1st few mouthfuls because,I failed to heed that advice my 1st time,& Swallowed a bunch of grit, which in turn made me Gag,& Almost puke! It's funny when it happens to someone else in a NON-survival moment, could be tragic in a Real survival situation when water is scarce!

Interesting. 'Fraid I haven't tried it. I wonder if it's basically their straw filter element with a different housing and a prefilter.

The closest thing I've heard of is the Timberline water filter, which can either be used as a pump or a straw. It has replaceable elements and is something like 5 1/2 oz.
