I find it interesting- no mention that it doesn't work so well if it gets really cold. :P

It looks like an expensive "toilet paper heater". You know, those ones where you take an empty tin can, put a roll of toilet paper inside (with the core removed), and with an inch or so of space between the top of the can and the roll. Then you pour alcohol on it and light.

Also, I believe that even methanol does not combust completely and thus would produce carbon monoxide, making it unsafe for enclosed areas. I have not looked into it but perhaps there is a dose issue here.

Wow, $102 for one pound coffee can, a roll of TP, and a bottle of rubbing alcohol. Free enterprise at its finest...

Eric, the first solid fuel that completely combusts will be the first one. In a perfect combustion reaction, you get water and carbon dioxide, but nothing is perfect.

That is why no matter what kind of fuel you use, you crack the window. Or die.
