Theme song for this forum - 02/09/06 10:45 AM

As a teen of the 90's may I suggest with all due respect:

That's great, it starts with an earthquake, birds and snakes, an aeroplane and Lenny Bruce is not afraid.
Eye of a hurricane, listen to yourself churn - world serves its own needs, dummy serve your own needs.
Feed it off an aux speak, grunt, no, strength, no, Ladder start to clatter with fear fight down height.
Wire in a fire, representing seven games, a government for hire and a combat site.
Left of west and coming in a hurry with the furies breathing down your neck.
Team by team reporters baffled, trumped, tethered cropped.
Look at that low playing! Fine, then. Uh oh, overflow, population, common food, but it'll do.
Save yourself, serve yourself. World serves its own needs, listen to your heart bleed
dummy with the rapture andthe revered and the right, right.
You vitriolic, patriotic, slam, fight, bright light, feeling pretty psyched.

It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.

Six o'clock - TV hour. Don't get caught in foreign towers.
Slash and burn, return, listen to yourself churn.
Locking in, uniforming, book burning, blood letting.
Every motive escalate. Automotive incinerate.
Light a candle, light a votive. Step down, step down.
Watch your heel crush, crushed, uh-oh, this means no fear cavalier.
Renegade steer clear! A tournament, tournament, a tournament of lies.
Offer me solutions, offer me alternatives and I decline.

It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it. (It's time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.
It's the end of the world as we know it. (It's time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it. (It's time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.

The other night I dreamt of knives, continental drift divide.
Mountains sit in a line, Leonard Bernstein.
Leonid Brezhnev, Lenny Bruce and Lester Bangs.
Birthday party, cheesecake, jelly bean, boom!
You symbiotic, patriotic, slam book neck, right? Right.
It's the end of the world as we know it. (It's time I had some time alone)

It's the end of the world as we know it. (It's time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine (It's time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it (It's time I had some time alone) and I feel fine.
It's the end of the world as we know it (It's time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it (It's time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it (It's time I had some time alone) and I feel fine.
It's the end of the world as we know it (It's time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it (It's time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it (It's time I had some time alone) and I feel fine.

If it keeps on rainin’, levee’s goin’ to break,
If it keeps on rainin’, levee’s goin’ to break,
When the levee breaks I’ll have no place to stay.
Mean old levee taught me to weep and moan,
Lord, mean old levee taught me to weep and moan,
Got what it takes to make a mountain man leave his home,
Oh, well, oh, well, oh, well.
Don’t it make you feel bad
When you’re tryin’ to find your way home,
You don’t know which way to go?
If you’re goin’ down south
They go no work to do,
If you don’t know about chicago.
Cryin’ won’t help you, prayin’ won’t do you no good,
Now, cryin’ won’t help you, prayin’ won’t do you no good,
When the levee breaks, mama, you got to move.
All last night sat on the levee and moaned,
All last night sat on the levee and moaned,
Thinkin’ ’bout me baby and my happy home.
Going, go’n’ to chicago,
Go’n’ to chicago,
Sorry but I can’t take you.
Going down, going down now, going down.

"Toyland" -- Perry Como.

Also "Only the Strong Survive!", by Jerry Butler. Though this applies to more than just Long Term Preparedness, -and it also takes Smarts and such, -not exclusively Strength, -to Pull Thru and Survive. A Nice enuff candidate, -but seriously speaking, -it shouldn't be our Theme Song. [color:"black"] samhain

"Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
a tale of a fateful trip.
That started from this tropic port,
aboard this tiny ship.
The mate was a mighty sailin' man,
the skipper brave and sure.
Five passengers set sail that day,
for a three hour tour, a three hour tour………
The weather started getting rough,
the tiny ship was tossed.
If not for the courage of the fearless crew,
the Minnow would be lost; the Minnow would be lost.
The ship took ground on the shore of this uncharted desert isle,
with Gilligan, the Skipper too,
the Millionaire, and his Wife,
the Movie Star, the Professor and Mary Ann,
here on Gilligan's Isle."

"So this is the tale of our castaways,
they're here for a long, long time.
They'll have to make the best of things,
it's an uphill climb.
The first mate and his skipper too,
will do their very best,
to make the others comfortable,
in the tropic island nest.
No phones, no lights, no motor cars,
not a single luxury.
Like Robinson Crusoe,
it's primitive as can be.
So join us here each week my friend,
you're sure to get a smile.
From seven stranded Castaways,
Here on Gilligan's Isle."

Equipped to Survive grin

When your cold and lost in the dark,
out in the wilderness or into a park.
You've got to have the stuff with you,
to make in all the way through.

We're Equipped to Survive, got the skills to stay alive.
We prepare and we train, we can start a fire in the rain.

We're Equipped to Survive, we survive and we thrive.
We're prepared day and night, so whatever will happen, we will be alright...

The end of the world as we know it,
We don't know if it will happen, just prove it!
We put some water here, some fuel there.
Got a flashlight? Carry a spare!
Protecting our house for our families and spouse.

We're Equipped to Survive, got the skills to stay alive.
We prepare and we train, we can start a fire in the rain.

We're Equipped to Survive, with our gear, kids and wive.
Got to bug-out right now, but we're prepared, so we'll make it somehow...

Re: Theme song for this forum - 05/18/07 03:41 PM

How about:

"Won't Get Fooled Again" by the Who
"Wild Thing" by the Trogs
"We Gotta Get out of This Place" by someone I can't remember
"No Surrender" by Bruce Springsteen

"Muskrat Love" by the Captain and Tenille - OK, it's only used as a self-defense measure. If your home is about to be attacked by MZBs or other invaders, I suggest that you play it on the stereo as high as the volume could go. The lyrics will paralyze anyone (not wearing earplugs) within 50 yrds. Thus turning the toughest MZB into a quiverring mass of jello, it allows a quick and neat escape.

"We Gotta Get Out of This Place" is by The Animals

Funny, I figure somebody would've mentioned Barry McGuire's "Eve of Destruction" by now.

Take the children and yourself and hide out in the cellar.
By now the fighting will be close at hand.
Don't believe the church and state and everything they tell you.
Believe in me, I'm with the high command.

Can you hear me?
Can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running,
can you hear me calling you?
Can you hear me?
Can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running,
can you hear me calling you?

There's a gun and ammunition just inside the doorway.
Use it only in emergancy.
Better you should pray to God, the father,
and the spirit will guide you and protect you from up hear.

Can you hear me?
Can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running,
can you hear me calling you?
Can you hear me?
Can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running,
can you hear me calling you?

Swear allegance to the flag. Whatever flag they offer.
Never hint at what you really feal.
Teach the children quietly for someday suns and daughters,
we'll rise and fight while we stood still.

Can you hear me?
Can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running,
can you hear me calling you?
Can you hear me?
Can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running,
can you hear me calling you?

Can you hear me?
Can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running,
can you hear me calling you?

Can you hear me running?
(can you hear me calling you?)
(can you hear me)
Hear me calling you.
(Can you hear me running?)

Hear me running back
(Can you hear me running?)
Hear me running
Calling you, calling you
