New Orleans flooding / T.S. Barry - 07/12/19 03:55 PM

Things are starting to look bleak for those in the Big Easy. Tropical Storm Barry could be raining on them for 4-5 days.

Much of my family is from New Orleans, and if I were there we'd be moving inland right about now.

The river is already near flood stage even without the impending hurricane! Things could get pretty bad pretty quick.

in what the news is calling swamp camps.

I think the local news folks are referring to the many camps along the coast that are jacked up about 20 ft above ground that many people live in. Mass marketing hyped up fear, now with more dirty sea water!

This is a very minor hurricane. The storm surge is expected to be 3-5 ft. Everybody already knows what levels of hurricanes they can ride out and what levels they need to evacuate from.
