Yeah, hopefully they're all fine. And hopefully they pop back on in a few days (I expect some blackouts) with good after-action reports! IIRC, Blast had some good ones a few years ago.

Some tornado-related articles on the news:

"New tornado warnings to pinpoint storm's severity":

Quote:
In a test that starts Monday, five weather service offices in Kansas and Missouri will use words such as "mass devastation," "unsurvivable" and "catastrophic" in a new kind of warning that's based on the severity of a storm's expected impact. The goal is to more effectively communicate the dangers of an approaching storm so people understand the risks they're about to face.

"Tornado risk is growing and spreading, study shows":
http://www.usatoday.com/weather/storms/tornadoes/story/2012-04-03/tornado-risk-growing/53972598/1

Quote:
It's not just the "Tornado Alley" any more. Tornadoes are striking in more parts of the U.S., more often, a new study shows.

Experts are enlarging the area of the U.S. they believe is regularly in the path of severe storms, tornadoes, and hail damage, according to a report from CoreLogic.

My friend Lisa's neighborhood was hit but her house was not. She came over here that afternoon, after two hours of traffic, because she was unable to get a hold of any of us.

The tornado passed to the North of us.
