Flooding...again - 10/01/10 12:41 AM

Here comes my 4th river flood in the last 10 years...

Should not be that big a deal, actually...basically roads will be flooded, most of the houses that are in the flood zone have been elevated. There are still about 25 homes not elevated along the river.

Well we just finished 24+ hours of standby. Fortunately, we had no rescues. I believe people are finally getting the message not to drive through standing or moving water, especially when posted with a “Road Closed - High Water” sign.

We had no calls last night either....but today I get out of my Fire Rescue role and become Emergency Management Coordinator, so I turn off my pager and turn on my EMC cell phone.

tomorrow, the river comes up to flood level....
