Re: Boil Order - 05/14/10 03:32 AM

"City and health workers found a contaminant that could cause stomach or intestinal illness. They say those affected should boil their drinking water for at least one minute or use bottled water".
The order impacts the north half of the city -- residents, schools and businesses above 400 South. Subdivisions affected by the order include:

Harvest Hills
Aspen Hills
Sunrise Meadows
Dalmore Meadows
Summer Village
Sunset Haven
Sierra Estates
Riverbend
The Cove at the Jordan River
The Gables
Sergeant Court
Daybreak at Harvest Hills
Hillcrest Condominiums

There are approx 1800 homes, 10 restaurants, a Walmart, and a grocery store in the affected area

It was Campylobacter, a zoonotic emerging infectious disease characterized by diarrhea (often bloody), abdominal pain, malaise, fever, nausea, and vomiting.

It's always nice to hear something like that in your area and think, "No problem, I'm covered because I store water".

It's good to have the stored water, but I'd be very inclined to purify the tap water and use that rather use my stocks, so it wouldn't make much difference.
