hmm. well theres plenty of things. try checking health websites.

but me personally. if i crave food at night i go for healthy things.:
water- drink a whole bottle and my stomach is full.
almonds,peanuts,nuts- another good choice
big mac- <img src="/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> haha just kidding . you do not want this!
dried fruit
popcorn-im ify on this, but it has to have nothing on,and air popped if anything.
gum-sometimes just chewing helps
ice- for me it does the trick.sounds weird i know.
peanut butter cracker- im ify on this too. but as a kid it did the trick.
celery-i enjoy it ,a lil peanut butter is good too.

thats just a small sample of what there is. just look on the web and use your head ,you will know whats healthy and whats not.

He specified healthy. <img src="/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

-Pretzels, the hard sourdough ones. They need some chewing, so you know you've eaten something.

-Ramen, set the flavor packet aside and eat the noodles crunchy. Drink plenty of water, so they fill you up. Chow mein noodles are basically deep fat fried ramen and egg roll wrappers are nearly the same kind of dough, so it isn't as creepy as it sounds.

-Dried peas, with or without wasabi.

-Soy nuts, sunflower seeds, peanuts.

-Graham crackers with peanut butter. This can be very filling, actually.

Cereal and milk (or soy/almond milk if you are intolerant to lactose).
I usually add a scoop of chocolate flavored whey protein powder...yummu <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

the whey sounds like a good idea. any cereals that it tastes particularly good or bad with?

I like the Nature's Path brand cereals, they are not too sweet. And I use Whey-to-Go protein.

Water. But not too much... otherwise you have to get up too many times in the night. <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

A pint of Guinness, it's a meal in a can with an inherent soporific effect.

Two double cheese burgers followed by a quart of buttermilk

You'll drop in bed like a dead horse !! <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Eat more fiber during the day and you wont have crazy cravings as often or again.

A healthy snack... PB & Banana on a whole grain or whole wheat bread.
Yogurt + Oats mixed.
Black beans and Chips/Cheese (somewhat high in sodium)
Hot Cereal
High Fiber cereal with milk or alternative.
I like Kiwi's myself but bannnas, oranges, apples etc are nice too.

For me it's buttermilk. I was raised on it, so I'm accustomed to it, but it ain't for everyone.

Usually a good low fat fruit flavored yogurt will do just as well. Watch the sugar content. The milk proteins and the enzymes in yogurt or buttermilk have a mildly sedative effect, and for those who aren't lactose intolerent, it is fairly easy on the digestion.

For those who are lactose intolerent, a bowl of seasoned rice or some toast might be enough.

I'm up late plenty of nights when I'm painting kid's books (often well into morning), and I notice any cravings that can't be sated by tea or warm milk tend to lean toward carbohydrates. So I try to choose healthy stuff, too.

Kashi cereal is a favorite. That stuff is so good, organic too. Popcorn is a good choice, especially since they make those nifty snack-size microwaveable packets now. Usually I make mine over the stove using olive oil, though, since my hubby isn't a big fan of microwaveable popcorn. If I'm really feeling fun, I'll throw together a small mix of popcorn, raisins or cranberries, and peanut butter chips or almonds.

If you're going to up late make sure you're still drinking plenty of water. Seriously. And take out your contacts early!

Water's good.

I like my "cajun" corn, especially if I am watching a movie with my wife. I add about a tablespoon of melted butter to popped corn, sprinkle a lot of cumin and cayenne pepper on it and add a little bit of vegetable salt. MMMM delicious! And filling.
