Equipped for...DD2!!

Equipped for...DD2!! - 10/19/06 09:51 PM

Okay, I'm vibrating so hard I can hardly type. DW and I are in the process of freaking out and since I firmly believe that freaking shared is freaking halved I going share it.

Sometime in the next week DW and I will be recieving a large, brown envelop from China. In that envelope will be the details the child who will most likely become DD2!

It's been almost three long, hard, stressful, expensive years going through the process and now suddenly we are close to the end.

The anxiaty and pressure in our house right now is through the roof. It feels like the days before Hurricane Rita hit. Right now neither of us can breathe. The final activities involved in this adoption are the hardest. We know this from when we adopted DD(1).

Anyway, the choice was either run screaming through the hallways at work or post a scream here. With that I just want to say

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIEEE!!!
OHGODOHGODOHGODOHGODOHGOD!!!!!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIEEE!!!!!!!!!!

pant pant pant pant...

Thanks, y'all.

Congratulations!

I know what you're going through. I adopted DD1 (and only) from South Korea 17 years ago. Despite all of the hoops jumped through and anxious months spent waiting, it was worth it. I hope that time passes quickly for you and your family.

Congratulations!!! And you are lucky in another respect...you didn't have a pregnant wife to live with for nine long months. Oh those middle of the night food runs...

...?... She's arriving in a large brown envelope? <img src="/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

(Wait a minute... that can't be right....)

Oh, the DETAILS will be arriving in a large brown envelope!

Whew! I should learn to read more slowly!

Good luck on the details and the actual DD2. I hope everything goes smoothly.

A 3-year pregnancy.... WOW! <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Re: Equipped for...DD2!! - 10/21/06 03:06 PM

Hearty Congratulations! But two DD's? They are wonderful, but so expensive as they hit the teen years. You'd better be prepared to sell a kidney on E-bay in order to pay for their weddings <img src="/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

Congratulations!

And don't worry too much about daughters being expensive. Girls only want things like shoes and clothes. Boys do things like wreck the car and burn down the garage.

Re: Equipped for...DD2!! - 10/23/06 10:54 PM

Thank's all for your understanding and support. Well, one day has passed with no envelope. vibratevibratevibrate...

Last week we were told to expect it on Tuesday but now today word is not until the end of the week or maybe next week. VIBRATEVIBRATEVIBRATE!!!

Imagine a labor that takes a week, then they immediately wisk the child off to China for a month or two. That pretty much sums up the atmosphere in our house right now. Even the houseplants are acting tense. <img src="/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

Thanks again for letting me vent. I promise not to post again until I can do the proud poppa picture thing!

DD2 is currently a 9-month old healthy baby girl living in an orphange in the Guangdong province of China. At 6 months (her last check up) she was 26" and 16.8 lbs. In her pictures she is a chubby, bright eyed baby. The province she is in is one of the wealthier ones and all the signs indicate that she has been receiving excellent care. Since she will not legally become our daughter until we travel to China and get her I'd rather not publicly post her picture (here or on my blog). However, if you want to see her e-mail me and I'll send you copy!!

Cigars to all!!

Polak,

Broadband or dial-up? I don't want to swamp you!
<img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

They are right, you can smile so much your face starts to hurt.
<img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Luckily she's not green-eyed (BTLC). I can already tell she'll be a lady of extreme beauty and grace (of course having DW and DD1 as guiding influences no other outcome is possible).

Proud poppa (again) Blast

p.s. Thanks everyone for indulging a somewhat hyper fellow. <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
