'Tis the season for survival shopping

It has been my observation that mid-January is usually one of the best times of the year for clearance sales on outdoor equipment. With the end of hunting seasons, most XYZ-Mart sporting goods departments will clear out stuff to make room for summer sports.

Also, the best time of the year to buy gloves, coats, hats, thermal underwear.

Just bought a roll of orange duct tape on clearance sale. It was cheaper than the same brand of regular silver duct tape, I guess because the store considers it to be "deer hunting duct tape".

Good excuse to visit the sporting goods department, anyway.
Like any of you need an excuse to look for new gear !

Our Thermal hats gloves etc. seasons way gone now is the time to buy shorts and T-shirts for Summer weather that can be less than 10degrees. Also where I am you can struggle to find a blade anywhere more than 2 inches unless it is at my house or some terrorist is selling them to 5 year olds.

I just got an email notice from www.ems.com who is having a sale. Check out the "outlet" area, I saw some huge savings on backpacks.

They've also got a couple of Gerber multi-tools at more than 50% off.
