Anyone try to take a Bic lighter on a plane yet?

Now that the new TSA rule is being enforced, I'm wondering how well this is going. I'll be flying in a couple of weeks. Anyone dare me to put one in my checked luggage? <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />

What I think is funny is that the lighter makers protested this. This is the best thing that ever happened to them, everybody's going to have to buy a new lighter everywhere they go.

No they won't. They'll just quit smoking because it's too much of a hassle.

Highly unlikely. After, all, I can still carry four books of matches, right? I predict that a cottage industry will appear for better, bigger matchbooks.

What an asinine decision. It is an insult to Intelligence and to Liberty.

Now, now amper, the government KNOWS BEST. They are PROTECTING us. But from what? Now that IS a valid question.

What did you expect? It is another shoot-from-the-hip decision by lawmakers trying to make a name for themselves.
