I'm so tired of Florida that I'm moving to Emerald City, capital of Oz.

Does Emerald City have good high speed internet?

I wouldn't mind wintering there if it's walkable and snow-free.

Yes. Otherwise, it would take forever to access anything with your crystal ball.

It does rain in Emerald City; so far I only found one instance of snow. I'll keep checking.

The smoke has been bad here in Idaho but at least there's no flying monkeys!

Flying monkeys are not inherently evil. They have to do what the person with the golden cap commands them to do.

Wrong universe. Oompa Loompas are from
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Hahaha, that's right- got them mixed up. They're still creepy as heck, though.
I hope you mean the Oompa Loompas and not the Winged Monkeys. The Winged Monkeys are not creepy at all; they are adorable.

Yeah, I meant the Oompa Loompas.
I have to make some adjustments if I'm to live in Oz. I thought one of the first things I needed to do is to make sure everything is legal. Yesterday I went to the Bureau of Magic; the only thing they gave me was a visitor pass.
I did not know this until I got here; Oz does not use the same calendar we use. They use a completely different system.
In some ways, Oz is behind us in technology. Though they have flat screens, most televisions and computers use the old crystal ball display. All phones still use the crystal ball display making them bulkier than the cell phones we are familiar with. My cell phone is not compatible. If I want to stay connected, I have to get a new phone.

It's not surprising that Oz, like any other place, has a china town. What is surprising is that the name takes on a very literal meaning. Every person and everything is china [porcelain]. I had to see this place for myself, at least part of what I heard is correct: A beautiful species indeed.
Are these people able to leave or is their town a beautiful prison? I'm getting conflicting information.
Whenever I mention where I'm from the immediate response is always the same: "Is that anywhere near Kansas?" I learned why. A famous Ozian princess started out as an orphan from Kansas.

Weather reporters covering Hurricane Florence are urging people in Florida to evacuate.
Not because of the hurricane. Just because it's Florida.

Florida is a tropical hell. That's why I moved to Emerald City, Oz.

That sounds like a different place with the same name.

With apologies for generalizing, I’ve always rejected retiring or wintering in Florida because it is “G-d’s Waiting room”. Hot, humid, flat, dull ,buggy. No thanx! The final straw , however, is that, due to the mineral content of the water, you cannot get decent tasting bread.

Keep focused on why folks are here. Don’t make this Facebook for Survival.

You are right about hot, humid and dull. It's where people go to die.
home to too many folks who appear to worship an idol, correctly known as the flag of the Army of Northern Virginia. No thanx!
Which idol is that?

There was a rally for that flag three years ago.
http://forums.equipped.org/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=275775#Post275775Since then, not a word in regards to that flag.

Jeanette, the “ Stars and Bars” , commonly known as the “Confederate (National) Flag”, never was the actual national flag. The Stars and Bars was actually the battle Flag of the Army of Northern Virginia. That flag is the cult “idol” to which I referred.
That flag was the battle flag and never a national flag. That is true. However, referring to it as the "Stars and Bars" is incorrect. It is known as the Dixie Flag and the Southern Cross.

Don't forget the occasional alligator in the back yard.
There is nothing wrong with having alligators in your yard, they taste good.

He shure was in need of some gator-aid to get warm.

Catching the gator prolly saved its life. A few more weeks and they’d have found him belly up. Sometimes changing your location is not for the best...
