As part of my nephew's 16th birthday present I made him a couple of 16 face globe knots tied over a marble. He is looking forward to driving his family's car and can use one as a key ring fob and the other as a zipper pull or whatever.

As someone who can still tie a monkey fist blindfolded, I can appreciate the work you put into them. They look great. Legal suggestion... do be careful. Some places still consider these types of 'knots' as potential weapons. Yea... I know... draconian areas but do be careful. Hope he like them!!!!! I do!

FWIW, I wouldn't worry too much about legal trouble from building a globe around a 1/2 inch marble on a short loop. They weigh about 1/10 oz (Daisy slingshot ammo) and are about as lethal as bad breath sans slingshot. Now, if you build it around a 2-3 oz steel ball bearing on an 18 inch lanyard, you will probably be arrested for possession of a slungshot.
