hold off TEOTWAWKI for 6 weeks please! - 04/12/14 02:26 AM

i had a major parts replacement at the Vets Hospital this week.
another 6 weeks and i'll be good as new.....
i'm chock full of pain meds at the moment so i'll keep this short.
we see in the list of gear to set aside in case of floods and earth quakes the meds we are on.
have you thought about what you might do if in case you are post op,or any medical based problem, and have to remove yourself from danger?
between the knee and a big dose of pain meds i have enough problems getting to the kitchen.i'm lucky as my Wife could load me in the car.

Very good point, for people with handicaps and family members with handicaps as well.

Brings up an interesting question, and it applies to a lot of us, me included. They could, but would they?

"Sorry honey, it's just too much. Have a nice disaster. I'll write if I get a chance."

Jokes aside. Some of us do have "handicapped" family members that won't be able to take care of themselves in SHTF, much less help a temporarily disabled family member.

Some people have very negative characters that won't stop wining and blaming. And won't stop laughing if you ever mention preparing. So, a perosn with broken leg may end up helping someone else with a broken psychology.

I know exactly what you mean. I already have a severely handicapped DD and then the DW broke her leg. That all went very considering I'm gone 20 days of every month. It definitely brought home to me the problems that we will face whenever TSHTF locally or regionally....

I hope your recovery is speedy and uneventful, canoedogs! Be a good boy and listen to your physiotherapist! wink

I shattered my shoulder a few years ago, and it was a real eye opener, from the initial event through 3 months being immobilized.
