SOG FastHawk for $20 at Wallyworld

My internet research shows the cheapest this normally sells for is about $25 plus shipping.

Found a display of them for $20 at the local WalMart.

Looks to be a decent multipurpose tool of the larger sort.

Big 5 is selling the CRKT M16-01KZ pocket knife for $15. It's light, small, sharp, all black, solid, decent steel. I bought 4.

I saw those FastHawks today too. I was going to pick one up, but ended up grabbing a Bear Grills/Gerber fixed blade instead.

I was kind of put off from the Fast Hawk at first, as it seemed too light to be a good chopper. However, the small size, polymer handle, and rear spike made me think it might be a great little winter ice axe to keep in my snowmobiles. I might have to go back and get a couple.

It's listed for $40 on WalMart's website. They are half that price in the stores?! In what section? ("Sporting Goods" I would guess?)

On an end cap in sporting goods. Had Bear's knife, a 2pack of folding Gerbers with a tin, some Buck knives with a tin, and on the bottom the FastHawks. Saw them Wednesday, got mine Thursday. They were not there Tuesday night (regular shopping run day)

Picked one up a few days ago.

So far I'm really happy with it, I haven't really done anything but whack at a 4x4 with it but it's nice and sharp out of the box and still felt solid after the abuse I gave it. I'm not sure what I'd use the spike on the back for though (it's not sharp)

Was gonna get the sogzilla machete too, but the reviews I found online weren't too hot so ended up skipping it.

Ah, poop. I was double snubbed at WalMart this afternoon. No tomahawks and no .45colt ammo. I came away empty handed.

Ah, missed it. The good news is they had the CRKT Marzitelli Prowler on sale for $16. I bought it to replace the Taylor brand mistake in my 72 hour kit. I ended up with the display model so the factory edge was gone and it was a little dinged up. It sharpened up easily and the screws didn't strip out, so maybe I got a good deal.

I really am starting to hate my local walmart. All they had was the bear grylls knife and fat chance im buying that. Also after the blackout snowstorm last month they had their lamps and 9 hour candles wiped out and still have not refilled it at all....yeah...
