This Halloween be careful of that black licorice!

Apparently it can lead to heart arrhythmias in adults! It can also interact with other medicines. Although black licorice is so disgusting it's hard to imagine eating enough to harm a person!

I love licorice, including black licorice.

And I have a new bag of it I'm eager to dig into. Will keep my cell phone handy in the event it necessitates a call to 911.

It contains "glycyrrhizin?" If it wasn't MS NBC, I'd figure it was a joke with a word like that.

From what I understand most modern licorice candy has very little licorice in it.

Licorice has been used for centuries to soothe and protect the stomach lining. For that you want chewable DGL tablets. DGL stands for Deglycyrrhizinated Licorice. The glycyrrhizin that causes high blood pressure has been removed.
