I'm expecting a lot from that movie since it has some really talented actors and the book was so good. I hope it won't disappoint.

Can't wait either, read the book twice, they filmed some of the scene's here in Pennsylvania at the old amusement park at Conneaut Lake. Can't wait to see what they use of it.

This one was originally scheduled for a limited release on Nov. 14th, the same day that Quantum of Solace comes out. Apparently they keep pushing it back for editing purposes. A shame, really, but I hope they do a good job and stay faithful to the book.

I will admit, after reading a few of his books, I have serious doubts that Cormac McCarthy would know a happy ending if it bit him...............

I read the book and it really affected me as I just became a new father to a boy. Great book that lasts with you for a long time.

I read movie review sites and so far this movie has gotten mixed reviews. Viggo Mortensen (Lord of the Rings) supposedly does a great job as the dad, with full beard and haunting eyes. The kid, whom i have never heard, does good as well. The already weak role of the mother/wife is played in flashbacks by Charlize Theron and its still a weak role but what can you expect. The character is almost entirely absent in the book.

I hope the movie affects the same tone as the book and these reviewers are going off of no experience reading it. I will certainly see it.

Speaking of apocalyptic films, the re-make of "The Day The Earth Stood Still" is coming out in December. Hopefully it will be at least half as good as the original.

The Road on IMDB.

Viggo Mortensen... The Man
Kodi Smit-McPhee... The Boy
Charlize Theron ... Wife
Guy Pearce ... The Veteran
Robert Duvall ... Old Man

A few of those names seem familiar somehow. Should be a good movie.
