Disregard: Anyone have LL Bean Ridge Runner Shoes? - 10/18/07 02:47 PM

The hiker has just been found alive. Disregard this post.

Searchers in West Virginia are trying to find a lost autistic hiker missing for 4 days in a rugged wilderness area.

The searchers are now hoping to get an exact copy of Allen's shoe to compare against footprints they've found.

Search effort spokesman Chris Stadelman said the shoe is made by L.L. Bean, is called a Bean's Ridge Runner, and has the serial number TK48993.

Jacob Allen wears a size nine medium, and his shoes are colored dark khaki stone.

The company has been helpful, Stadelman said, but the shoe is no longer made. So searchers are hoping someone in the public will come forward with an exact match.

Disregard?… nah!

Use the above snippet to point out the suggestion that has been placed many times on this board… step on some aluminum foil and leave the nice shiny shoe print in your car or somewhere else SAR can find it easily. It seems so much easier and faster than having to find a match of the shoe in the general public.

If anyone’s got more details to the above procedure, please post them. I may have forgotten something important.
