If Les want to survive long enough to film a third season he better find a moderator to keep his website forum going.I'm liable to lob a canadian red poppy spy quarter at him with a slingshot. I must have a dozen unfinished deals and conversations in stasis. Seriously, if there are any crosssover people it's a fun forum and missed.

I've been excited to see the more episodes of Survivorman since Les mentioned they were in talks about a new season. Now it's only a few more weeks away!

Can't wait. I hope Les comes through with another good season. I haven't seent the schedule, but I hope he continues with the local places. It's a lot more fun to watch knowing that it's conceivable that I might be able to visit some of the places he has been stranded in.

Watching Bear rumage around in the Brazilian rainforest...hmmm doubt I will ever make it there, but I know I could get to Georgia's River Basin if I wanted to.

Survivorman: Season 2 actually begins on Aug 10th! - 07/27/07 04:27 PM

Just for informational purposes, Survivorman: Season 2 premiers on:

I don't know about you, but I don't plan on waiting an extra five days to start watching it!

Once in a while I actually wish I did have cable. I'm just finishing up season one on DVD from Netflix. Pretty cool, for TV.

I really hope the ghost of Stalking Wolf visited him sometime between the end of season 1 and the start of filming of season 2 and told him "Go watch brother squirrel." If Les would build a better shelter, he would be a lot warmer in these cold environments.

I'm forced to assume the method to the madness is that an open shelter and a blazing fire make a better show than a static shot of a boring totally enclosed debris hut/mound.

Ahem, speaking as an archaeologist, tenuous member of the Choctaw nation and Tonalea elementary school alumni in Scottsdale Arizona ( heavy AZ tribe population) I feel somebody should remind the brownies about Apache customs. One NEVER refers to a departed Apache as a ghost, if indeed at all in open conversation. It's rude. Sometimes a shelter is called for and sometimes a fire. Survival isn't chapter 3, page 38, paragraph 4- this is how 'grandfather' did things and it's required for all situations, including those no Apache has ever encountered.

Well, I'll start out by apologizing to any Apaches that may be present for my inadvertent rudeness. As an act of good faith I'll even go so far as to forgive you for implying that I was a "brownie" just because I live in NJ, have the same first name, have read some of his books and like to stay warm in cold weather. I don't even own a loincloth.

Chapter 3, page 38, paragraph 4 of all survival manuals shows an illustration of a lean-to with a reflector fire in front of it. You'll notice they never show the survivor in the lean-to. He's off gathering more firewood (again).

The point I was trying to make is that there were a few situations when he probably would have gotten some sleep if he had put the same effort into an enclosed shelter rather than something more photogenic.
