Hemocut - 02/20/07 11:04 AM

I found this a couple of months ago. I like it very much and it's now a part of my hiking-FAK:

I like it, but I'm not ready to give up my EMT shears and my surgical kit just yet smile

After about 25 years as an EMT, I had the oportunity to cut a lot of stuff at the side of the road. Bandage scissors, or this duo-tool, might be good at cutting bandages, but you have to get at a wound in order to bandage it in the first place, and I doubt that any bandage scissors will cut thru Levs's, leather jackets, thick webbing, etc, (not to mention that penny that everyone just had to cut in half, just 'cuz they told us it would do it), as well as a $6 pair of "EMT Scissors." So I think that I will stick with what works for me.

But in a hospital environment I can see a use for this thing...

I'm going to echo OBG for first aid, but for tech work it gives you light-weight wire snips AND a hemo in one package. I wonder if I can grind wire-stripping grooves into the cutter like the Squirt E4 has. smile
