spotting scopes - 11/09/06 04:02 AM
A few weeks ago I took some notes about the spotting scopes used by the military shooting teams but I can not find my notes. I wanted to read up of them and I seem to remember the model was the T48 but when I search for I not sure if I getting to correct info. Can anyone clue me in on to the correct model numbers?

I too did some googling, with no luck.
But, the military being the military, my guess would be that there is no set spotting scope, but whatever scope happens to be the lowest bidder when new scopes are needed. The telescopic sight on the weapon is a horse of a different color, that one would probably be more of a standard item. But that is just a guess...

I think these model numbers are what you are looking for:
Spotting scope - M49, or M144
Scope case - M164
Tripod - M15
Tripod case - M42A1
