Why didn't I realize I could use my FSA funds?

Don't know why it hasnt occurred to me, but I've been stashing money every pay check (tax free) into a Flexible Spending Account. It only recently occurred to me (last 5 minutes) that I could actually apply all the first aid supplies I've been stocking up on against it!! Man, if only I kept all my recipts!! <img src="/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />

The good thing is, now I can "splurge"!! <img src="/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Flex Spending Accounts (FSA)are one of the greatest financial scams ever perpetuated on the American Public.
Suffice it to say that unlike an HSA (health savigns account) the "use it or loose it" FSA's are nothing less than a massive unearned profit by the companies that count on the sub-80% redemption rates. You'd be much better off looking into an HSA, if you qualify.

Believe me, my family uses 100% of it (usually before October).. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> My wife is a huge numbers person, so she makes sure we use it.. The actual benefit we see is that we can use the all the funds evern before we make all the payments.. So they probably hate people like us.. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Same here. I usually more then use my HSA.
There are tricks one can do, if you know you won't be able to get all your money back <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

with 2 youngns, HSA and FSA are great - FSA = Pay for childcare - Money in, money right out again...
