Target matches - 06/23/06 01:53 PM

target has, on their $1.00 table, a package that contains 4 boxes of 25 'camping' wooden matches and a waterproof container. the container has a strike bar on the bottom. the matches are the short variety, but the container would hold larger matches. good value, and no, i don't work there!

Target: what a name for a store. With all the terrorism stuff, 911, school shootings etc. I am surprised that anyone or any company would want to be a "Target".

Our local Target has a small FAK, a canteen, and several other "camping" items mixed in with those matches.

I was at Target and picked up a 50 piece assortment of fishing stuff (10 large sinkers, 15 small sinkers, 10 large hooks, 10 small hooks, and 5 swivels) in their bargain $1 bins. It looks like the same stuff most people have in their kits.

I also picked up a 10 pack of burn cream for $1.. It's not burn jel, just 0.5% Lidocaine + Aloe Vera. I couldn't remember what the % of Lidocaine on the burn gel was (2%), but hey, it was $1 for 10 packets (0.9g)

I didn't know Target had a $1.00 table. I don't remember seeing one at our local store.

Our Target has a sort of seperate area near the front that usually has cheap junk seasonal stuff that didn't sell. I'll check there tomorrow. If they don't have the camping matches, I'm sure I can pick up a bag of half-broken leftover plastic Easter Eggs, or maybe some of those aweful heart-shaped Valentine hard sugar candies, or something equally as precious. That's the kind of junk our store sells in that area.

I bought 3 packs of them, the matches are terrible, but the watertight containers are worth it. I also found a folding trowel for $1.00, threw it into a daypack instead of lugging a military E-tool in it. They also had 1-liter canteens for $1.00
