I don't know how good they are, but the prices do look good on some items. "Stocking stuffers" (at least my stocking)

Similar to www.cheaperthandirt.com, with a few more esoteric items.

I've been to the store many times over the years and never seem to escape without tons of "stuff" for various tinkering projects. One time they had the mechanical ballistic computers for 3 x 16" gun turrets of the Iowa Class batleships (then being modernized) - they wanted a pretty penny for those and it would have taken a robust forklift to set then into one's truck.

Yes it is! I wonder if they have an Isuzu Trooper muffler, I just spent $4200 fixing that beater and then I notice I have a hole in my muffler...they want $571 for a factory muffler!!! That car is like half a Ferrari, both in engine design and cost to operate!! At least it runs:) Cheers!

As a "Cheesehead lost in VA", I've been to American Science & Surplus (AS&S) many times. When my wife and I travel back home (to Milwaukee), this is a must visit for us. And yes, it is a dangerous on the pocketbook. I mentioned this place before in the fresnel lens discussion.
