Just changed the N-95's masks I carry... - 08/18/05 12:33 AM

Hi, all. I used to carry the 'formed' type, but they took up too much room in my kit and got squashed too easily. I bought a box of Magic Arch N-95 respirators. They seem to be pretty good...
- Highest filter efficiency at 99% at .1 microns.
- Protection from tuberculosis, SAARS, and other airborne pathogens/particulate.
- Only mask fully adjusts to every face for max comfort & protective seal. (Not sure how they'd work if you have a beard).
- No restriction of downward vision.
- They don't have an exhalation valve though!
- They're cheap! I paid $25 for 35 - 70 cents each! The other type cost me about $5-6 each at the local Home Depot.
- They're 3" x 8" and about 1/16" thick (each). They look like a surgeons mask. They take up a lot less room in my kit. They're flexible. The box says "cannot be crushed when stored". (The box of 35 has all of them sealed in a single plastic bag. You'll have to repackage them when you open the box. (Too bag they're not wrapped individually)).

Anyone else have them? Think they'll work OK? - Dave

I just bought a box of the foldable ones, I like them as they take up no space basically.
