Every now and then we see newcomers finding this site, which is great, and asking the same questions all of us asked when we joined. Often one of the list members will direct the new member to the answer by linking to a thread discussing that topic, such as Container Quest .

So what are your favorite threads? Which ones did you find most useful? Perhaps we can build an thread index as sort of a FAQ.

Here are a couple of links to the ETS main site that I feel should be "required reading."

*The Core

*Gear & Equipment

Plus another from the Survival Forum:

*Kavanaugh's 10 Essentials

Just my 2 cents.

As a newby, that hasn't had time to sit down and go through all the past threads yet. I think some kind of index or a FAQ with links back to the threads would be a fantastic idea.

The forum has a search feature for subjects you may be interested in.

This forum and accompanying information library courtesy of Doug Ritter is very comprehensive, useful, well designed, and user friendly.

You do have to put in only minimal effort, and you will probably find those things you need faster than waiting for a response from those on the forum to whom you present the question.

Good Luck!

Hi Wayne

IMHO:

As you know, the difference between this forum and others is that this forum is part of the Equipped-To-Survive site (link bottom of the page) with a comprehensive list of topics. More experienced folk here can give more specific info/feedback if/when you require it.

Good luck.
