Just read this on The Society of Primitive Technology web site. What do you all think? Pete

This is very much the opposite philosophy of the ETS foundation, which seems to be all about having the right things to help you survive. I think this was the most interesting paragraph:

Quote:
Primitive hunter-gatherer type cultures were very good at doing nothing. Exactly how well they did this is difficult to determine, however, because doing nothing leaves nothing behind for the archaeological record. Every time we find an artifact we have documentation of something they did; yet the most important part of their skills may have been what they did not, and there is no way to discover what that was by studying what they did.

Very nice article. Thanks for sharing. I wonder if this will work with my supervisor at work tonight.

I like it... makes lazy sound economical and efficient, and I'm all for that

I found it quite interesting. I couldn't help but think of many gallery pics I have seen over at BCUK when the author was talking about needing a pickup truck to carry all of your "primitive" gear. I tend to be a minimalist so I did appreciate the underlying message here. Afterall, even the most equipped person amoung us would certainly agree that it is silly to go in to the woods and spend 12 hours building an elaborate shelter simply to use for two nights in beautiful weather.
