Jungle Tool(tm) ? THE jungle tool is a machete, but thats just a name thing.

now the tools itself:
-hollow handle knife with that kind of attachment and a sawtooth spine ? thats what i DON'T want.
-what are those serration on the side of the shovel for ?
-handle is alluminium, not a bad thing, but what material are the pins made from, pins are the weak spot of foldable shovels, so i want heavy, thick chunks of STEEL as pins.
-i don't like the fact that the movement of digging may possibly result in a accidental drawing of the knife.
-the price ! for € 60,95 i can buy much beter tools for the job.

I played with one. It is lighter than the more robust surplus entrenching tools and a whole lot heavier in expense. The hollow handle survival gear was fair. Packing these shovels is a PITA and you need a whole different strategy for use. You can effectively dig only kneeling and using as an axe or chopper is clumsey. Entrenching tools make great tools for a vehicle. I would buy a surplus unit and play with it first.

I would get a Cold Steel Special Forces Shovel. It digs like a bull dozer.Chops like an hatchet and hammers like, well a hammer. And what i like most of all there are no moving parts. It even thows like a tomahawk <img src="images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />.They run for around $20.00.
