Something useful and simple, but effective

Something useful and simple, but effective - 03/26/04 08:06 AM

I have a tongue depresser in my survival kit that I spooled 14 feet of duct tape, 10 feet of electrical tape, and 50 feet of 100 lb test dacron fishing line onto. I taped the ends of the dacron under the tape which was spooled on either end of the stick, with the dacron spooled on in the middle. It is secure, compact and convenient. I also spooled 8 feet of duct tape around my disposable bic lighter, and I make a new one every time I replace the lighter (about once every other month).

Just thought someone else might find it a handy notion.

Great idea! This could be used for all sorts of useful stuff, tape, different test fishing line, cord and twine, seems like an endless list, thanks!!!

I did something similar with my duct tape. I took an old sears gift card and wrapped about four feet of duct tape around it lengthwise. It is flat and fits perfectly in my PSK. I also made another little roll with a coffee stirrer that I keep in my truck.
