Changed my Maglight to an LED - 11/29/03 08:28 AM
I found an old AA maglight missing its bulbs so I took a spare red LED I had and put it inside the maglight making the reflector part a bit bigger to fit the LED. It works pretty well, It isn't as bright as a regular bulb, but I would say it is a bit brighter then my photon. I bet it last longer too. <img src="images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I am very interested in hearing about this. I have looking at this idea for a while but I was wondering if you could post some pics here. I want to switch over both my mag lights to LED (red and white) and I am lost on how its done.
Thanks,
garrett

Check out the CPF site here, do a search for the model you have. This site (go to the main lisitings page) has a lot of good information on lights of all kinds. Pete

Here in the UK, 7dayshop.com sells a kit to convert a Maglite to triple-LED. I have one myself; it's dead easy to fit.
http://tinyurl.com/x8bjThey say it's American, so it should be obtainable over there.

I want to alter my 3D Mag to to using a high dome luxeon star SE, do you know where to get them in Britain?
I got the idea from solid-state-lighting, but it's an american site so buying the equipment is difficult to obtain.
