Moat interesting was the low cost of building successfully fire resistant dwellings and the disparity in expenditures for fire fighting versus fire and natural disaster prevention.

Have you noticed the TV news mention any house preparations besides form a defensible space?

Article says
his rooftop vents had taken in ashes despite protective netting. “We’ve got to fix that and get finer mesh,” Moore said. He also plans to get more fire extinguishers.
