New snakebite remedy on the way

Looks like it will be effective and cheap. Don't get bitten just yet. The process is not quite ready for prime time.

I have a Facebook acquaintance who wrote the book "Venomous". Here's her thoughts:

It seems to have some potential against the venom. That may at least help to minimize damage. It´s a huge advantage that it does not need refrigerating. That´s going to increase availability significantly.
I am little sceptical about the claims on pricing though.
Even if the antivenom lives up to all the claims I´d be reluctant to get bitten. It just doesn´t sound like a fun activity to me.

You can take my word for it, if you enjoy multiple, multiple injections from kitchen match size hypodermic needles, and then having a limb or a part of your torso packed in ice for 3 days, then it's more fun than landing in a barrel full of angry, biting monkeys!
