Another Survival kit update!!! Big update! - 05/03/11 06:58 AM

Hopefully You aren't all getting sick of my survival kit But I majorly updated it recently and addressed most of the concerns previously stated. I Added A 1 person heat sheet that came out of the car since winters over, Single AA Stylus Microstream (Extra batteries pending) The Neck lanyard that came with the microstream, Coghlans Water pure tabs, Plenty of Water storage bags in the form of the lansinoh bags (About Six all together going to try to add more soon), a Second Lighter in form of a BIC (The Atombomb decal makes it work better), A magnifying lens, A Leatherman Micra, some bandages and more butterfly strips in the pouch that came with the PSP and thats about it!

Notice the orange between the zippers of the heat sheet.

How its Packed

Everything unloaded

Under the magnifying lens is 2 lansinoh bags that goes intot he tupper ware portion of the kit. Under the halls is the pliers in alum foil.

Hope you All approve again! Working on my Kit has become a hobby of mine and I greatly appreciate you guys letting me share it with you and giving me so much feedback to improve it.

One thing I have added to my kits is a small, packable backpack. I attach it if there is not room in the PSK container. My PSKs are so tightly packed that once you pull things out, it is tough to get it all back in. I use the Kiva Keychain backpack, and they come in various colors. My kids' PSKs have orange Kivas. The backpack also aids in collecting useful materials or foraging for edibles. I have recently acquired a Sea to Summit keychain back pack which is just as small packed as the Kiva, but holds a bit more and is more durable.

One Suggestion:Replace the Coghlans bottles with MP-1 tabs or equivilent type. That is a Nice kit,& Should give you great confidence of your abilities should the need arise!

Thank you!

A few Notes, The Fatwood was moved out of the tupperware kit (The main self contained kit) and the rayovac keylight had to go completely. I Plan on getting a pico light for inside the tupperware since Repacking it I specifically made enough room hopefully for it. Sadly the Cotton Shown in the Bag (about 12 cotton balls) Had to go and needs to be rethunk how to fit it back in.

The lansinoh Bags turned out to work great for this and as you can see I replaced the roll of the ziplock bags to water proof my stuff with them in which amazingly everything fits perfectly in um. Under the ritter PSP pouch the work out band is folded in half and inside one of the bags aswell since I believe moister will trap inside it (Its own bag is not water tight) and create mildew and such. Also The Heatsheets fits perfectly into one so if you believe you can refold it into the same shape and size It would make a great replacement bag since the one mine came in is not a resealable bag.

The Tabs was a gift and put in just because, Im sure they would serve their purpose and happily I do have a sturdy metal boiling container for primary water collecting.
