Ritter & Aeromedix Relationship Ending

Ritter & Aeromedix Relationship Ending - 09/16/10 12:41 AM

Well, I was hoping to get this all sorted out before it got public, but apparently some emails have been sent out...

My relationship with Aeromedix has ended and I am in the process of selecting a new retailer to work with. I am close to making a decision and expect to announce a new exclusive retailer arrangement in the next 30 days. New production has already been ordered for all the RSK knife line.

Thanks for your patience and support.

We believe in you Doug, regardless who your provider is. I have nothing against Aeromedix, wish them the best as far as I am concerned but I buy what you think up and where you sell it.

Arrgh... my girlfriend is supposed to be ordering an RSK MK1 and Photon for my birthday, which is in 9 days.

Re: Ritter & Aeromedix Relationship Ending - 09/16/10 02:04 AM

Well this seems about as good a time as any to put the offer out there for someone who might get more use out of it than me as it's sat on the shelf more than it has seen use due to my schedule since I got it. I have the orange MK1 that I have barely used. If anyone wants pics or is interested PM me for details.

Their loss, someone else's gain.

My recently ordered MK3 (which would be my second) is one that Aeromedix cancelled. I'll be ordering from the new vendor the moment that's made public.

I definately hope that DR decides to do business with multiple companies and doesn't limit to just 1. That'll probably be the only chance for the rest of the world to get the products you sell for a even remotely reasonable price.

Just let us know if we can help in any way (vendor experiences, level of purchases from a particular vendor, etc.). I know that whomever you select will very happy with the support/customer base from this group.

+1 ... and I'm perfectly willing to buy another Ritter knife if you say I HAVE to in order to keep your products on the market. I think my wife might fall for that??!!

Looks like clarktx has dibbs on exclusive Amazon.com distribution rights, but I might as well throw my hat into the ring, for what its worth.

Good luck with your new partnership, Doug.

Re: Ritter & Aeromedix Relationship Ending - 09/17/10 12:55 PM

Doug discussed it with me and he has some constraints that might preclude his involvement with me. Actually I'm thinking of becoming a spyderco dealer instead, since I qualify for the real-world presence they require...

Re: Ritter & Aeromedix Relationship Ending - 09/23/10 04:09 PM

Update, they must have just taken them all down while they were updating the site. The remaining knives they have IN STOCK are back up now, the knives that are OOS did not go back up.

Re: Ritter & Aeromedix Relationship Ending - 09/23/10 08:08 PM

Had to get my girlfriend to order me something else since the RSK I wanted was out of stock anyway.

So a Crossbreed Supertuck holster for my .45 is on the way for my birthday. She said she was sad it wouldn't be here by tomorrow and I told her good things take time.

Now I just gotta wait until Doug gets a new distributor to lay hands on an RSK.

Hey Doug, any thoughts on making a regular-sized RSK in yellow like the mini's come in?

Re: Ritter & Aeromedix Relationship Ending - 09/23/10 09:23 PM

I've referred many people to Aeromedix' site after they've handled my RSK. They've bought other items Aeromedix sells too, and this will be Aeromedix loss. +1 on what has been said Doug--where you go, we go!

Re: Ritter & Aeromedix Relationship Ending - 09/23/10 11:52 PM

Not that I have any input or great insight, but I had always pictured Ritter's products as being more compatible and harmonic with Best Glide's product line and philosophy. I've purchased a few items from them and always got good service.

Knifeworks.com carrying Doug's Knives - 10/12/10 11:54 PM

I got an email newsletter from Roger at Knifeworks today, announcing that they're carrying Doug's knives. I like dealing with them, so I'm quite pleased with this.
