Reflector (mirror) idea

Reflector (mirror) idea - 08/29/02 08:12 PM

I am a pretty serious amateur photographer. A recent innovation that is popular for us types is a reflector, that is basically just like the collapsible windshield screens for cars.

You know the kind, you grab it, give it a couple of twists, and it folds down into the size of a dinner plate?

Well, they make these for photography now, in a variety of sizes. I saw one that was folded down to about 8 inches or so. They often have a gold reflector on one side, and silver on the other. Weigh very little.

Seems like if a guy is moving around by car, and thinks he might need to signal someone in the air, this could be very useful. For about 10 oz, you could have basically a mirror that is two feet around!

Here's one source, I'm sure there are more:

http://www.creativedesignbackgrounds.com/accessories.html

JustBob.

Re: Reflector - expanding on the idea - 08/29/02 08:34 PM

I guess I should have said that because of their intended purpose (reflecting natural light onto a photo subject) these devices should be MORE reflective than what we use in our cars.

However! The ones that many of us have in our cars already would make quite a good reflector if necessary.

JustBob.
