Ritter PSK container - 08/04/08 12:09 PM

Does anyone know of a small, waterproof, hard shell, container that I could tranfer my AMK Ritter PSK into? I love the kit, I just would prefer to have it in a hard case thats waterproof. Something small that will hold all of its contents. The otter boxes are way too bulky. Thanks.

I didn't like the little plastic envelope either, it wouldn't stay closed in my pocket. So, while not waterproof, I put the stuff in a little tin "gift card" box I got at Michaels or someplace. Think a long skinny Altoids tin, with a non-hinged lid. I made it semi-waterproof with tape around the edge (with the end doubled over so I can actually get it open if needed). Added bonus, maybe, is that sealed up that way, I don't mess with it all the time. The mirror wouldn't fit in with all the other stuff, so it is taped to the bottom of the tin. I am not real happy with this solution, but it works 'til something better comes along...

Otter boxes come in different sizes. I have my (supplimented) RSK in one that's about the size of a standard tobacco tin. Think that it's the Otter 2000. But don't quote me.

Also: Try a Witz case.

Any decent ocean sports/diving shop should carry them.

Try BCB Survival. They used to sell the small aluminum tins that the SAS survival kit is packed in. You would have to tape the lid to make it watertight.

Thats what I use. Everything fits nicely with a tiny bit of extra space for fishing line, etc.
