More and more I'm moving toward carrying some equipment in a belt pouch < camera case, spare cell phone case, or similar.>

belt pouch and gear

Easy, out of the way and doesn't take up pocket space.

I have a TAG pouch-its fairly large, but carries quite a bit of gear. I have a comprehensive survival kit in it, in a french food tin, a small FAK, a heatsheet, a SAK, a full size compass, and it all fits nicely into the pouch. It has a nice velcro attachment, and drops down off the hip. I will snap some pics later today of it.

If you're looking for one, search for 'cellphone case,' 'belt pouch' or 'camera case.'
I found one for $10 at Target.

Although a bit more spendy I am liking some of the GPS cases available now since they are a semi-hardshell similar to the Case Logic hard disk cases.
