There is a variety of models of folding reading glasses in different strengths out there. I have some Foster Grants I picked up at a Walgreen's for about $20. They come in a nice little hard case. They are easy to carry.

Why is it that as we age our arms also get shorter thus needing coke bottle bottoms(you have to be a boomer to remember deposit glass bottles) to read?

Unfortunately, my arms got too short many years ago, at least while I'm wearing my contacts during the day for distance. A 3-pack at Costco sells around $20, I have bought enough that I have 2 pairs in every room and vehicle I frequent, and 1 pair in each bag.

A spare pair of glasses is now EDC for me. I have a hard time reading most computer screens without them.

For me too. i'm on the verge of bifocals. I'm close to blind without my glasses now. Had a lens pop out on a hike a few weeks ago and almost lost it in the snow. (Both eyes seems to stop working.) I'm not taking any chances anymore! Spare glasses and crazy glue for repairs are now EDC and going into every kit

I've posted this before, but what the heck...I have a 3.75 astigmatism, and wear bifocals... I like to shoot pistol and 3 gun competition...eyeglasses for safety concerns are required...the wraparound polycarbonate lenses with the lens inserts didn't work with the astigmatism (index of refraction difficult looking thru two pieces of plastic),and didn't work with two attempts of polycarbonate safety glasses...so I'm stuck with hardened plastic lenses in the largest frames I can find (titanium spring cable earpieces)

so for you shooters... after a couple of attempts to move the center of focus around, and reverse the near bifocal to upper... what I ended up with is a set of mono vision lenses... my near vision prescription in my dominant eye, and regular bifocal with the partition line moved up 2mm in my non dominant eye... takes about 15min to adjust for depth perception... works with optics on rifle, but not so well for aerial clay birds (shoot with regular bifocals for skeet and 5 stand)

hope this might save you some time, when you find yourself in the same quandry

So far, I can get away with the three pairs for eight bucks at the "Big Blue Store". I have five pair floating around in various locations.
