Christmas night tornado warnings were announced for communities along the coast near Carpenteria. They were rescinded about 45 minutes later.

A tornado, relatively wimpy at "only 80-100 mph" did traverse Ventura Harbor, uprooting trees and scattering kayaks, as well as throwing strawberrys around from the adjacent fields.

No injuries, but I am always kind of smug about Cal only dealing with fires and earthquakes, not tornadoes or hurricanes, so this rather wimpy twister should be duly noted.

I believe that sometime in the 1920s a tropical disturbance almost reached Los Angeles. Who knows what climate change will bring??
