Just a FYI for ETS members in NE Oklahoma that haven't heard the latest forecasts.

The local meteorologists are predicting a significant ice storm for 12/15-17. Right now they are saying that they don't see as much moisture aloft this year. Any way you slice it all that ice will make for some fun driving conditions for a few days at the very least.

Those of you in the area know the drill though; two systems will collide in the area and a difference of fifty miles will mean all the difference in the world.

Boy that 50 mile thing isn't a joke. Oklahoma City would get 1" of snow and 60 miles north on I-35 there would be a foot! Good luck and be careful up there.

I guess the cold air mass must be looking a little thicker and the moisture amount looking lower. The meteorologists are already backing off some on the ice storm prediction.

Which means they will probably continue to talk it down until Monday morning. Then the system will do something the computer models didn't anticipate and BAM... shocked

TV Meteorology, the perfect job: Two hours a day, it pays well, you apparently don't have to know much if you look good, and when you're wrong 65% of the time, everyone just shrugs.

Severe storms are one thing we can expect will happen every year.
