Just go to local camping stores and buy several different meals (usually $5.50 each) and make them and have your family eat them. I’m lucky that locally I have Cabalas, Gander Mountain and Bass Pro Shop. All of these stores have freeze dried food. But freeze dried food is expensive and the portions are small. You can do very well getting a good supply of food from the local grocer. Freeze dried food does have the advantage of being light-weight, easy to prepare and just as easy to clean up. It can be made and eaten right from the package. It also has a 50-year storage life.

But it’s expensive.

This guy says he’s the largest seller of Mountain House food in the country.
