I just recently Switched over To Dr Woods Peppermint Castile soap and I Love it! It Makes a Fantastic all around soap/shampoo. I Have not used any other Brands (Dr Bronners) and only have tried the Tea tree and peppermint tho.

I was Wondering if anyone had experience with these types of soaps and what other uses they have found for it? Is it good for dishes/Laundry?

I also Noticed One bottle I bought is Alot thicker then the other and was wondering if thats normal for Castile soaps to be somewhat different per bottle/Batch.

And a mention that 2 out of every 3 Bottles at my grocery store had holes on the tops either at the rounded corner or at the base of the top so make sure if you purchase a bottle to inspect them for it does not seem all that rare. This also prompted me to purchase a bottle for storage and tansfer the soap into a nalagene bottle which hopefully works out better with no ill effects.

i've used Dr. B's peppermint exclusively for 40 years as handsoap, shampoo, body wash, laundry soap and dishwashing liquid.

just not that fond of it for brushing my teeth though.

its amazing how long a quart-size bottle lasts too.

plus the very strange label makes for entertaining reading.

Some people allege a significant difference between the Castile soap made from olive oil (the classic version which the big manufacturers no longer make), and the cheaper variety made from hemp. You can still find small soap makers who offer 100% olive oil Castile soap, though it's not cheap.

Are you sure it was the type of soap being castile or was it the oils it was packing like the peppermint or tea tree and such?

Soap, as opposed to the mild detergents like sodium lauryl sulfate, is made by mixing a caustic agent like sodium hydroxide with a fat or oil. If the soap maker gets too much caustic, the soap may be too harsh for sensitive tissues like your eyeball.
