Cool! I hadn't heard of it before but it looks like something I should check out.

I've been using the Picaridin for over two years now and like it. It does not seem to be as uncomfortable to the skin as DEET and, most importantly, it will not dissolve plastic. If you are not aware of this very nasty little habit of DEET, just use your cell phone after putting it on and you'll find out the hard way. My experience was in 1994. Fortunately, replacement cell phone parts were not such an oddity as they are today.

Good point, but I still use Deet. And I clean off any watch band that might be affected my it.

I've been in some really mozzie areas, I think most of us have at some point. It doesn't take much DEET to deter mosquito's flight pattern but I find when I use long sleeves, long pants, and something to cover my ears so the infernal buzzing is quieted down, I don't need to slather it on.

And sleep with a head net. Yes you look like a dork. But my Uncle Murphy wrote a Law once, well many laws, one was this, "If its stupid but it works, its not stupid."
