Mornin' all,

While waiting to get my hair cut last night I was browsing through some magazines at the shop. I came across a copy of the October issue of "Men's Journal" and inside was an article written about the last man to leave the World Trade Center alive. The article was called something along the lines of "Who lives and why" or something like that. Looks like an interesting article. Unfortunately, my time under the scissors came up before I could finish. It looks like a fairly interesting article.

Cheers,
LW

Blast and I both just finished reading 102 minutes: The untold story of the fight to survive inside the twin towers.

It was a very moving book. I could not put it down. So much happened in each building. It did make me think of how I would treat my EDC working in a structure like that.

Sidenote: This book help restart DW's interest in prepping, especially along the lines of multiple types of communication...I'm hoping that translates into a new big screen tv!

You are going to screw the deal up if you move that fast. First new iPhones, then ham radios, THEN the new TV.

Might I suggest 110" screen with a HD Projector. It really makes things jump out at you.

I never get to use ours unless it is hockey night for the Stars, or Hockey Night in Canada though. Kids always have it.

That is a very interesting article if it is the one Hercdoc links to.
There was a Doctor Michael Persinger who was working on creating similar hallucinations with magnetic fields a few years ago.
Unfortunately he phrased it in terms that offended the more religious people (some people referred to his device as the God Helmet) and his research was pretty well stifled.
It has links to temporal lobe epilepsy too.
There is still a lot of controversy over the results with at least one other research team being unable to repeat the experiments.

As I originally posted, I didn't get to finish reading the article at the time. I went out and bought the magazine in order to fix that. smile

Without delving too deeply into the content, I think the controversy between matters of faith and matters of science will always be there.
