Has any one done buisness with Wilderness Solutions www.wildersol.com

I searched for fire pistons but did not get the threads I had read before, so I am starting a new one.

They sell fire pistons and related fire starting gear. I am having an issue with an order I placed with them, and was looking for some advice.

I bought a fire piston from them a couple of years ago.

It took a very very very very very long time for delivery...but it did come through and it is a superb fire piston.

I do recommend Darryl Aune's work over Wilderness Soluntions....same quality pieces but much better customer service.

I placed my order June 25, 2008 and it is now July 13, 2009.

I still have not recived my order in 1+ yrs. And the few times I have been able to contact them, the response has been "Oh, I'll get that in the mail soon."

Needless to say I am less than happy with the situation.

Yeah, that sounds just like my order...except I am pretty sure you are only half way through my waiting time.

I am still waiting for a tinder capsule I traded a braided lanyard for....not expecting that anytime this century though.

If you have not paid, I would consider ordering one from Darryl...if you have paid.....I think it will come someday.

That's crazy.

I would have done a chargeback within a month of not receiving the item.

Here is an old thread with the same discussion....

http://forums.equipped.org/ubbthreads.ph...true#Post125616

Back in 2008 I guess I had taken delivery in about a year...so Jeff should be shipping out that piston soon....I hope.

In his defense he does custom make these, but his customer service is very poor.

I would not prepay to him ever again that is for sure.

Well I looked back through the forum trying to figure out how long my piston took...
I ordered it 9/17/2004....and had a message from Jeff that he was working on it 9/08/2005....I failed to note when it actually arrived though. I seem to recall it was not too long after that note however.

Good luck...they are worth the wait as exceptional pistons, but communication can really go a long way at making the wait acceptable.
